Coming in October..... botanical art and sumi-e classes return to Squirrel's Nest Studio, in Bloomingburg on Tuesdays, 10:30 am - 3:30 PM. Join Roberta's classes to create nature subjects in pencil, watercolor pencil, watercolor, gouache, and/or sumi-e ink. The studio views from the wall of windows looking out at the changing autumn trees will be inspiring. With glimpses of the Hudson Valley beyond. I am sure either the landscape view or nature subjects from the woodland garden will provide a harvest of creative ideas. I serve a variety of delicious teas, play eclectic music from new age nature inspired sounds, Japanese, Chinese, and classical favorites while you draw and paint. Demonstrations and lots of personal attention. Call for the new detailed brochure.
To register: contact Roberta at rozenart@aol.com or call her at 845-733-1848.

Roberta Rosenthal works continuously in traditional botanical art and sumi-e painting techniques simultaneously in a full time career as an illustrator, designer, fine artist and art instructor at the New York Botanical Garden, Wallkill River School, Catskill Art Society and Mount Saint Mary College.

A recent visitor to Squirrel's Nest Studio was a Northeastern flying squirrel. He came in through a crack by the air conditioner in the upstairs bedroom. I heard him first in the middle of the night and then turning on the light I saw him staring at me from my desk. He tried to come back in the next night but I gaffer taped the entire air conditioner so he couldn't get back in. He belongs outdoors.
