Looking forward to receiving final projects from my students at the New York Botanical Garden. I hope to share some of their work on the blog in the near future. The Gouache techniques for Botanical Subjects was successful and a great follow up to the Gouache techniques for Nature Science Subjects. I had several return students in the course who completed Painting Nature Science subjects in gouache.

Sketching with sumi ink and watercolor3 Thursdays, September 12, 19, 26, 2013, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.NYBG, Roberta RosenthalCreate spontaneous drawings and paintings in ink and watercolor of spring plants in the Native Plant Garden. Re-create images of stones and rocks with recognizable, accurately illustrated plants growing alongside them. Travel water brushes make the technique applicable to all outdoor settings.
